About us

Mary Ann and Michael Higgins, Co-Founders

Who are we? Mary Higgins founded the center in 1993. Mike Higgins has been with the center since retiring from the local public schools. Now our Case Manager, Mike is a licensed social worker with a master's degree in counseling. He is available for counseling with couples and men. Our Client Services Director, Tracy Holmes, is a licensed RN. In addition to these and other staff members, several trained volunteers are available to serve you.

What are we? We are a non-profit, non-denominational, non-political organization. We are committed to providing compassionate support and information to anyone faced with an unexpected pregnancy. Since opening our doors in 1993, we have offered our community a place where you will really be listened to, treated with compassion, provided accurate, up-to-date information, and where someone will walk with you as you navigate this crisis in your life. We are grateful for support from local churches, concerned individuals, and grants. We could not provide these free services without their help.

What do we do? We do not refer for or provide abortions, nor do we arrange adoptions, so we have no financial interest in your decision. We are here to serve you by offering

  • Free pregnancy tests with Medicaid-accepted proof of pregnancy

  • Free limited ultrasounds with positive pregnancy test

  • Options counseling (we can help you think through your choices)

  • Individualized childbirth, parenting, and life skills classes for both men and women

  • Referrals for community resources

  • Maternity and baby supplies

  • Emergency supplies when available

  • Help after abortion and miscarriage.
